Showcasing AutoTRUST Innovation on the Global Stage: Highlights from AviSense Participation at CEATEC and Beyond
As a proud member of the AutoTRUST consortium, AviSense has been actively contributing to the project’s vision of creating AI-powered, self-adaptive vehicle technologies to enhance the safety, accessibility, and experience of automated mobility. Through international outreach and participation in key technology events, we are helping to raise awareness of the project’s mission, build strategic collaborations, and share the innovations that AutoTRUST is making possible in the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) domain.
CEATEC 2024 – Promoting European Innovation in Japan
One of the most exciting milestones this year was AviSense’s selection by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation to represent European innovation at CEATEC 2024 in Tokyo—Japan’s premier exhibition for advanced technologies and digital transformation. CEATEC brings together innovators across the globe to explore how cutting-edge technologies can address pressing societal needs.
At the event, AviSense presented several key technological contributions developed within the AutoTRUST framework, including real-time augmented reality (AR) interfaces for driver assistance, cost-efficient multi-sensor fusion for situational awareness, and centimeter-level geolocation systems that enhance the perception capabilities of (semi-)autonomous vehicles. These demonstrations were an opportunity to highlight AutoTRUST’s emphasis on human-centered AI, explainability, and collaborative intelligence between drivers and machines.
Participating in CEATEC not only allowed us to disseminate the results of AutoTRUST to a global audience but also opened doors for international collaboration—particularly in Japan, a leader in both the automotive and mobility innovation sectors.

Engaging the Global Startup Ecosystem
In parallel with CEATEC, AviSense also took part in key satellite events aimed at fostering global innovation networks. At Venture Café Tokyo, we joined a dynamic community of tech entrepreneurs and mobility experts to discuss how next-generation AI can enhance safety and decision-making in CAVs. This was an excellent opportunity to present AutoTRUST’s goals and the collaborative research behind our hybrid human-machine decision frameworks.

Similarly, at the AI Saloon, we connected with artificial intelligence experts, startup founders, and academics to explore how AI and AR can converge to improve trust, transparency, and resilience in intelligent transportation systems. Conversations focused on ethical AI deployment, personalization of driving assistance, and the scalability of explainable systems—key topics that AutoTRUST directly addresses.
